Expedia Group has been quiet about the status of its leadership following the abrupt departures of CEO Mark Okerstrom and CFO Alan Pickerill in early December. A new report indicates the company is in no hurry to find a replacement chief executive.

  • Business Insider reported that Barry Diller, the media mogul and Expedia chairman told employees at an all-hands meeting last month the company isn’t looking for a replacement CEO. Diller and vice chairman Peter Kern are running day-to-day operations at the company right now.
  • The company cited a disagreement between Okerstrom and Pickerill and Expedia’s board over an ambitious reorganization that aimed to unify Expedia’s brands and technology as the reason for their departures.
  • Expedia stock is up 8 percent since Okerstrom and Pickerill announced their resignations but down nearly 16 percent since November, when the company reported underwhelming third quarter financials.
