Grand Theft Auto 5 has been added to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service.Rockstar’s incredibly popular open-world crime game is now available as part of the Game Pass subscription service, along with hundreds of other games. The announcement came in a simple post from the Xbox Game Pass Twitter account, somewhat out of the blue. Unlike other major additions such as The Witcher 3, GTA 5 has just arrived without warning. The short video in the tweet simply says ‘Available today’, so subscribers should be able to download it now.

The GTA 5 page on Microsoft’s website has been updated to reflect its addition to Game Pass. It also notes that it is available just on Xbox One, so Game Pass PC users will not be able to join in the fun. You’ll need to head to Steam or Rockstar’s own launcher and purchase the game for that.

Grand Theft Auto 5 released on Xbox One in November 2014, and has seen years of active play thanks to its hugely popular GTA Online mode.
