Fiat partners with EVBox for charging stations

Fiat has partnered with EVBox, a charging station manufacturer and subsidiary of the energy company ENGIE, to provide charging systems for its new EVs.

ENGIE will set up Fiat’s online platform, and will install and maintain charging stations for customers and approximately 2,800 dealers in 14 European countries, including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK.

Last June, Fiat Chrysler announced plans to invest €9 billion (about $10.24 billion) in developing 10 new EV models. The company currently offers two plug-in models: the Fiat 500e and the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The deal with ENGIE is intended to serve the new models, some of which are scheduled to appear in 2020.
